It was not nearly as popular as the life threatening disease Diabetes is
today. Diabetes is spreading at near epidemic proportions in the U.S.
with 20 million and throughout the world with nearly 240 million
victims. Those numbers are dwarfed by those who are on the road to
getting it.

It is estimated that nearly 54 million Americans have pre-diabetes. Pre-diabetes is a condition where blood sugar levels are higher than normal but not yet at Diabetic disease levels.

Here’s the scenario. In a typical life cycle of an adult as they age
they become more affluent and generally speaking less active. They tend
to eat more convenience foods. They tend to gain weight. Nearly 30 % of
Americans in a recent report are obese.

Throw in the natural occurrence of a slowing metabolism and you have the makings of Type 2 Diabetes. Diabetes is a disease that affects your metabolism–the way our bodies use digest food for growth and energy
