A federal requirement that would have compelled the U.S. tobacco companies to display large graphic images on their cigarette packages this year has been blocked by U.S. District Judge Richard Leon. This federal requirement was made in order to encourage smokers to quit smoking by showing them the dangers of smoking on their health.
