Congress President Sonia Gandhi on
Friday had a meeting with RLD chief Ajit Singh in the backdrop of her
efforts to hold consultations with UPA constituents and others to forge a
consensus on the Presidential nominee . RLD with five members in Lok Sabha is
the latest entrant in the UPA having joined the ruling alliance just
before the Uttar Pradesh elections.

NEW DELHI: Members of Parliament on Wednesday expressed anger over offensive remarks made by yoga guru Baba Ramdev.

Samajwadi Party MP Shailendra Kumar has
moved a privilege motion seeking action against people making derogatory
remarks against MPs. The MP has initiated the motion without naming
Baba Ramdev, who had called MPs “murderers and robbers” at a public
function in Durg (Chhattisgarh) on Tuesday.

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on
Monday clearly indicated that it would not support a presidential
candidate of the Congress. BJP stalwart and leader of opposition in the
Lok Sabha Sushma Swaraj said the party was in favour of former president
APJ Abdul Kalam being brought back to Rashtrapati Bhavan again though
there were problems with his candidature too.

This means that despite holding Pranab
Mukherjee in high regard, the BJP will not support the finance minister
whose name has also cropped up as a contender for the post of president.

BJP is banking on party rebels, who
won the municipal polls, to muster majority in South Delhi Corporation
even as it is initiating discussions for finalising the Mayors in three
newly created civic bodies.

As soon as the elections take place in each and every state of India,
majority of them show their interest in casting their vote. Though,
with this it becomes much crucial part of voting as well as rights.
There are many queries which needs to be discussed related to subject of
voting. For instance, there are many who are still not aware of what a
voter ID is? Most of them do not have their VOTER ID cards.

We identify ourselves as citizens of the country but in
actual fact are we the citizens of that nation? If we are true citizens
of a particular state then we must participate and take interest in
deliberating our rights and responsibilities. India is known to be a
deliberate as well as a democratic country. And so, we must join
together to enjoy our rights and discharge responsibilities rather than
stepping back from it. Thus, it represents that either it is because of
