Erin Doland, editor of the seriously-organized blog Unclutterer, guest-blogs at the Zen Habits site with a kind of beginner's guide to making the first steps toward becoming an "unclutterer" versus just "clean." The difference? An unclutterer "has systems in place to handle the things he or she owns," meaning everything that comes into your abode. Mac OS X only: Donationware application SketchBox provides multi-functional sticky notes for your Mac desktop. Similar to the default Stickies application that's baked into your Mac, SketchBox has tons more functionality, with typing, drawing, and timers built into every sticky. That means you can create a note, type a few lines or doodle an idea, then set a timer to remind yourself to check back with the note later (perfect for quick to-dos). The app also gives you a robust, iPhoto-style organization window for your sticky notes. SketchBox is donationware, Mac OS X only. SketchBox [via MacApper]

Postica's a latecomer to the free online sticky notes arena, but it carries with it a few neat features that set it apart. First and foremost is the ability to attach any kind of file (up to 5 MB) to a sticky note, and then send that note to a friend, whether or not they have an account. Secondly, Twitter users can share notes and create new notes on their board, even designating the color, by direct-message postica. For organizing a multi-file project by yourself or in a group, Postica's a simple but attractive option. Postica is free to use, requires a sign-up. Postica [via Online Tech Tips]
