black_hat.jpgObserve the decision-making process from different perspectives to understand the complexity of the decision and to examine the decision from the periphery and from angles that you'd otherwise be blind. The process, called "six thinking hats," allows you to put a different colored hat on and observe the problem in different ways. For example, while wearing the white hat, you observe all data available and extrapolate from historical information. When you switch to your red hat, you look at the problem with emotion and attempt to understand people's reactions. A black hat wearer will look at all the bad parts of the decision and will try to understand what may cause the outcome not to work in your favor. When you wear your yellow hat, you're optimistic, and when you switch to your green hat, you're creative. Finally, the blue hat is read more »

googlesurvey_cropped.jpgIf you're using Google's experimental keyboard shortcuts, auto-complete functions or other interfaces, you might have noticed a little yellow survey primer that sometimes sticks around long after you've offered up your answers. yellowhttps.pngOne noticeable change between Firefox 2 and Firefox 3 is the yellow address bar background, which turned on in Firefox 2 when you visited encrypted web sites—the ones that start with https://. After much debate among the developers, Firefox 3 dropped that visual cue, but on Windows, with a little userChrome.css tweak, you can have that yellow background back. Here's how. If you've got the Stylish extension installed, you can simply add a new style that contains: #urlbar[level] .autocomplete-textbox-container { background-color: #FFFFB7 !important; } Otherwise, here's how to manually edit your userChrome.css and add that code to it.
