Never ever, in the history of Internet videos, has a user-generated video hosting site been avoided by those who wanted to share their triple X rated clips with the world. The rules are already classic and have been around ever since man climbed down from trees and discovered the power of marketing: the first to come is the first to be served. Abiding by them, the latest video site to surface is the latest one to have been ‘givenÂ’ the not safe for work (NSFW in short) clips. Drumrolls, pleaseÂ… i... read more »

youtubelogo.png YouTube today launches a new feature called Insight which tells you when viewers are watching your clips and where they're located. The New York Times reports:
With the Insight information, video creators can dig into the specifics of a video's performance and find, for example, that it peaks on Fridays in winter months, or it has taken several weeks to get traction—information that can help better promote their work. The information, presented as a color-coded map and a graph of a video's popularity, is accessible through a link from a video creator's account page on YouTube. The company will update the data once a day. Not seeing Insight information on Lifehacker's videos yet—are any of you? Send us a screenshot of what yours look like when you do (tips at lifehacker.com.)

Yesterday I had the great pleasure of being a guest on G4's Attack of the Show, where I got to talk about what the heck life hacking is and the new Lifehacker book, Upgrade Your Life. As promised, a video clip of the interview with my pal Chris Hardwick is after the jump.

I can assure you that I was not wearing huge 70's style armpads—the chair was indeed the same color as my shirt—and that the boats behind me were entirely fake. I read more »

Video DIYer extraordinaire Kipkay details 5 smart tips for the budding videographer in the video above. Some are better than others, but the tip that stands out for the cord organizer in me is the last, in which Kipkay details how he saves plastic bread clips and repurposes them as labels for his cords. It's a very quick and simple tip, but the result is a great method for keeping your cords organized on-the-cheap—sort of like the power plug ID labels with a DIY flair.

paperbinding_cropped.jpgLifehacker reader and blogger Clara posts a tip she picked up from a Taiwanese life hack television show on keeping papers together without using staples or binder clips. The technique requires scissors, a steady hand, and the patience to really learn the method on one's first few tries, but Clara notes that she's kept up to 15 sheets firmly together with the trick. Not applicable to documents you can't afford to have clipped, obviously, but it makes for an eye-grabbing way to deliver documents, and perhaps a shot at a MacGyver moment if you find yourself without office supplies—the two notches could be hand-ripped, after all, if you were crafty about it.

The case that seems to be one of the most violent disputes ever created by a YouTube clip continues as a Saudi blogger posted a reply to Fitna, the anti-Islam clip that caused demonstrations and protests in several Islamic countries. Raed Al-Saeed, 33 year-old, has created a video response to the clip produced by the Dutch law maker Geert Wilders and uploaded it on the popular video sharing service YouTube. The 6-minute movie is based on Bible verses that encourage people to war and crime and ev... read more »
