Windows only: Open OpenDocument Format (ODF) files in Microsoft Office using the OpenXML/ODF Translator, a free plug-in for Microsoft Word. One of the most obvious benefits is being able to open OpenOffice.org-created word documents, spreadsheets, and presentations, although other apps (like Google Docs) are starting to hop on the OpenDocument bandwagon as well. Users of Office 2007 should be able to install the plug-in and get right-click access to ODF files; those with earlier copies may have to install the Compatibility Pack and .NET 2.0 to get it working. All platforms with Firefox: Just uploaded updates to three Better XXX extensions, which added secure updates and Firefox 3 Beta 4 support, plus a few other goodies. Go get the latest version of Better Gmail 2, Better YouTube (now with YouTube Canada support!), and Better GReader (now with a working Minimalistic skin!) from their homepages, or current users can just hit the "Update" button in Firefox's Add-ons dialog. Google has rolled out several mobile services until now but none of them was especially designed to work on Windows Mobile 6 devices. However, this got to be changed somehow so, today, the Mountain View company officially introduces a Windows Mobile 6 compatible version of Picasa Web Albums, allowing users to view photos, slideshows or browse the community photos straight from their WM6 gadgets.
