Metro Detroit home values stumbled to a new low in January, as the U.S. housing market got the year off to a dismal start.
Among
the 20 major cities surveyed for the S&P/Case-Shiller Home Price
Index, Detroit ranked last with an index of 66.02. The region's previous
low was 66.47 in December. Case-Shiller uses home values from January
2000 as a starting point of 100 — anything higher shows a gain, and
anything lower is a loss. Compared with other major cities, Detroit is
much lower.

NEW YORK, May 9 (Reuters) - The euro hovered near a
three-week low against the U.S. dollar on Monday, with renewed
worries about the euro zone's heavily indebted economies
suggesting more losses could be in store for the single
currency.
Standard and Poor's cut Greece's rating to B from BB-,
dragging it further into junk territory on concerns a debt
restructuring is increasingly likely. Moody's threatened to cut
Athen's ratings by several notches.

TOKYO, May 27 (Reuters) - The dollar tumbled broadly on
Friday after weak U.S. economic data dragged the 10-year
Treasury yield down to a six-month low overnight, with the
greenback's drop gaining steam on a flurry of stop-loss
selling.
The dollar fell across the board, hitting a record trough
against the Swiss franc and a three-year low versus the New
Zealand dollar, with traders citing talk of dollar selling by
model funds and U.S. banks, as well as Asian sovereign players.
