All platforms: Mozilla's pushed out the latest release of the Firefox 3 beta for testers and impatient upgraders. Firefox 3 Beta 4 improvements include a better download manager, smarter location bar auto-complete, speedier performance (twice as fast using Google Apps, says Moz), better memory handling, and even more native look and feel for Mac, Windows, and Linux users with new icons and toolbars. Firefox 3 Beta 5 Now Available For Download [Beta Beat]

All platforms: Mozilla's just made the latest release of the Firefox 3 beta available for download. Mozilla says Beta 5 "includes more than 750 changes from the previous beta, improving stability and web compatibility." Testers and those willing to live on the edge with Beta 5 will get speedier Javascript handling in webappps like Gmail and Zoho Office, better Windows/Mac/Linux integration, and an improved Places (bookmarks) organizer. Collect one to three months' worth of receipts, checks, pay stubs, and other paper records of money in and out, drop them on a floor when you're done, and then arrange them however you'd like:You'll probably find yourself shifting piles around and making new piles throughout this process, as you should. The goal is to find ways to group your spending that's natural to you. Xobni Beta Now Open to the Public [Beta Beat]

Windows only: Previously mentioned Microsoft Outlook plug-in Xobni (pronounced "zob-nee") is now available to the public for immediate download. Previously in invite-only beta, Xobni adds email analytics, better contact cards, fast search, threaded conversations, and more to your Outlook inbox. The NY Times explains one way Xobni makes your inbox more of a social network of connected contacts: Xobni recognizes that if an executive sends a copy to someone else on each message he or she sends, it might be to an assistant or another colleague.
