Mac OS X Leopard only: Dig into advanced user settings on your Mac by Ctrl+clicking on an account name in the System Preferences>Accounts area. (Update: Be sure to click the lock in the lower left to enable the Advanced menu.) There you can change Leopard's default login shell, the account's home directory or short name, and other important, scary, things that are just daring you to mess with them. (Actually, don't, unless you really know what you're doing.) As for shell options? Mac OS Hints explains:
In the resulting Advanced Options screen, either type in the path to your preferred shell, or choose among the various shells already installed in /bin: bash, tcsh, sh, csh, zsh, or ksh. Do you prefer an alternative shell on your Mac? Why? Tell us in the comments.

In the past weeks, Yahoo! Mail has experienced some SMTP issues that had messages being delivered late, starting from minutes and up to days. It was a big problem that nobody was aware of unless they specifically checked with the intended receiver. A bigger mess couldnÂ’t be possible, especially with messages that were urgent and did not make it in time.

The Microsoft MIX conference in Las Vegas ending today has welcomed among others the Yahoo! Messenger for Vista team, that will hold a couple of presentations and, just like last year, talk about the integration of Yahoo! Mess with Windows Vista. The difference is that unlike last year, when the IM service had the client in the works, now itÂ’s out into the wild and an actual preview and demonstration are more than just theory on a blackboard / screen.

Organize your clutter of cables in your corner by storing them all in a container with drilled holes to allow for the flow of air. The container you're looking for is much cheaper than the alternative (about $2 versus $75 or so for a "cable management kit") and doesn't look half bad. Not to be sexist or anything, but women who arenÂ’t on point with their questions utterly mess up as interviewers on stage. If you hate cord clutter but don't have the DIY chops to run wiring through your walls or your crown molding, FlatWire is a paper-thin wire you install directly on your wall and then paint over.
