The Google Operating System blog provides a few blocks of code that anyone can insert into their Google Docs word processing files to add dynamic page numbers to page headers and footers, but which show up only in the online office suite's PDF-powered printing mode. The trick involves added a chunk of code to the top or bottom of a document using the "Edit HTML" toggle at the top of the editing page. GoogleÂ’s continuous improvement of Google Docs is going over or around page numbers, for some reason yet not disclosed. Every update has people waiting for this feature like itÂ’s the Next Coming and every time they are disappointed to see that the Mountain View based company did not include it on its list. I donÂ’t know what theyÂ’re thinking, are page numbers going against the "Do no Evil" motto or what?

A reader at the Unclutterer blog suggests that since stores only really need the number off the cards they issue, she's put all her account numbers in her cell phone contacts list to lighten her wallet:Basically, I have every membership number saved in my phone, organized to be alphabetized together such as 'aMemb-Barnes&Noble, aMemb-Southwest, aMemb-Avis, etc' so they are easy to find. It has uncluttered my wallet/purse and made is substantially easier to find the number when I need it.As one Unclutterer commenter suggests, it might be more convenient to line up the numbers behind something like xMemb-Borders, but the concept is sound—assuming you're not storing any cards you can buy or pull cash with. This is another update regarding the news on the victims of Cyclone Nargis in the state of Burma. By know, most of you probably know about Google's actions towards helping the Burmese people deal better with the disaster.
