Digg is shopping itself around, and a purchase is really likely to happen any time soon, according to Michael Arrington of Tech Crunch. The user-generated news site has been working with investment bank Allen & Co., that I last mentioned was the one behind Bebo being sold.

Google has just rolled out what seems to be the most powerful web service for Amazon: App Engine. It is addressed to developers around the world and allows them to "run their applications on Google's infrastructure," as the provider explained in a press release published today. Gmail has always been a very popular webmail service and, ever since it was officially released, it has been drastically improved with a large number of new functions. But what's more important is that since the day it was born and until today, Google has continuously improved Gmail in order to make it work faster and faster and, according to Wiltse Carpenter, Tech Lead, Gmail Performance, the company will continue to focus on this aspect in the near future too.
