Live on the East Coast and want to see Lifehacker's post timestamps on Eastern time? Sick of having to check the "preview comment" box every time you write a comment? In the tradition of the Better Gmail Firefox extension, today we present the Better Lifehacker extension, which adds useful functionality to Lifehacker and its sibling sites, including io9, Gizmodo, and Jezebel. After the jump, see what Better Lifehacker can do, download, and install it in your copy of Firefox. Better Lifehacker Firefox extension What it does: Enhances Lifehacker and other Gawker Media blogs with useful Greasemonkey user scripts. Version: 0.2 Updated: July 1, 2008 Released: June 29, 2008 Creator: Gina Trapani, compiled using a modified version of Anthony Lieuallen's Greasemonkey Compiler. Installation: Click the Better Lifehacker download button below in Firefox. Then press the Install Now button in the dialog box, and restart Firefox.

To turn a feature on or off, visit the extension's Preferences dialog (from the Tools menu) and select or deselect the appropriate checkboxes. Refresh the site to see the changes.
